I’m not sure why being pregnant equates to “please be negative about pregnancy + parenthood”🤣 and now that we’ve been with our girl for 8 months - I can confirm that people are just being annoying and have a pretty negative outlook on parenting🥴

1. “I can’t believe you guys are having kids in your 20’s”

⚡️NEWFLASH⚡️ we actually planned it this way.. like we want to have our kids younger, be there and have more energy to be present through their lives and for our future grandchildren’s lives!

It’s mostly peers that say this because they want to “have fun”, but we’ve never been huge on partying and we still have fun in all of the same ways we did before🤷🏼‍♀️

2. “Sleep while you can before the baby comes!”

I sleep now more than when I was pregnant💀 our baby started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks (thank gawd), but even if she woke us up three times a night - ID STILL BE GETTING MORE SLEEP NOW🤣

3. “You guys should go have some fun now before the baby comes, your marriage will never be the same”

OF COURSE it changes! We added an entire person to our life that’s completely dependent on us. DUH

People always say that as if it’s a bad thing (usually people who don’t have healthy relationships). It as an adjustment, but if you’re communicating, are supportive, and are still prioritizing your relationship THEN IT WILL BE OKAY!!!!!

These are just some of the things I’ve heard. I just want you to know that most negative comments COME FROM NEGATIVE PEOPLE!!! Hurt people, hurt people and those people sadly get a little kick out of “warning you”. Not everyone’s life falls apart after having kids lmao. I genuinely feel that people who are THAT negative probably shouldn’t have had kids yet😅

Imagine their kids hearing them say how they never sleep because of them, how they don’t have fun anymore, how their relationship fell apart because of them….

Let’s be more mindful + STOP TRYING TO SCARE NEW PARENTS‼️
