Who doesn’t love going to a concert right? I mean everyone does. Especially when it’s the concert of our favorite singer or band. Since we are in an endemic phase now, we are finally back to the usual routines that we would do before Covid-19 hits. And yes, concerts resume again too! Gosh, the excitement i tell you is definitely something else. Recently, I had the chance to watch Fabio Asher’s concert live in KL last weekend. It was the best night of my life and for sure I would love to share my experience with everyone here. Malam galau indeed!

There are tons of upcoming concerts soon - LANY, Russ, Raisa, Noah and many more. Yes, you have went through the war of buying the tickets but have you decided what’s the utmost suitable outfit you should be wearing? Next is what are the essentials that you should bring along? And what are the concert rules you should take note on? Let’s get this started! Sharing some concert tips for first-timer concert goer out there.

4 Important Tips To Take Note:-

1. Background Check on The Location

- For me, the most crucial thing you should take note on is of course before preparing to attend a concert, you should do a background check on the location of the concert. This helps in deciding what to wear beforehand and knowing where the facilities are provided or entrances and exits there. For instance, if the concert is located in a hall or a building it’s easier for you to decide on to wear something that’s not too light or too warm. It also helps you to plan ahead your timing to make a move to the location to avoid massive traffic jams and also long queue for wristband redemption. You can decide what’s the best time to go and what is the less peak hour for you to be able to arrive on time. We wouldn’t want to miss the first session right?

2. What To Wear

- Since I bought a general admission ticket so for sure it was a free standing zone. And of course, this means you would need to be standing for hours until the concert ends. Not to mention, the zone will be crowded with others as well. Well, that’s how a free standing zone works. It comes with the price but believe me, whenever it comes to deciding which zones you should be getting, the free standing zone is ideal as it’s near to the stage. Hence, a comfortable outfit should be your choice.

I wore a ruched printed skirt with a black crop top tee. And yes, I was happy that I chose to wear this outfit as I could move around freely and jumping throughout the whole concert. This look definitely gives that concert look and I am not kidding when some girls approached me that night saying how much they loved my outfit. That one made my night!

Shoes? Say no to heels, sandals, flip flops or anything that cause feet pain. You are going to a concert here so of course sneakers are the right ones. I wanted a rock and roll look but still subtle. A high cut Converse completed the whole look for sure. I didn’t go for any heavy accessories because I didn’t want to overcrowd my look that night so minimal accessories it was. Then I went for a braided hair and yes, definitely a full concert outfit!

For the bag, try to avoid wearing shoulder bags and wear a crossbody bag instead to put your essentials. I wore a small crossbody tote bag from Charles & Keith that fits all my items nicely. This is to avoid your bag getting slip from your shoulders when you are jumping or dancing around during the concert and to prevent your shoulders from feeling sore.

3. What Essentials You Should Bring

- Just because it’s a concert, doesn’t mean you should be ignoring the essentials that you should bring. Bring something that could fit all in your small crossbody because for sure, big bags are strictly prohibited in any concerts. This is to avoid unwanted scenes like pick-pockets and loss of valuable items. When going to a concert, the essentials that you must bring are of course the items that you can never leave behind. That consist of your wallet, card holder, powerbank and your make up kit. Please note that don’t bring alot of items because during the security check before entering hall, based on my own personal experiences, prohibited items will be confiscated. That’s the last thing we want to happen on the day you want to enjoy the concert right? Stick to something that will bring you a peace of mind until the end of the concert.

4. Obey To Concert Rules

- Now, this has to be the most crucial tip that everyone needs to keep in mind. All concert’s organizers will for sure list down the dos and donts beforehand. They will upload on their official website or social medias for everyone’s acknowledgment. This is to avoid any unwanted scene throughout the whole concert. It is best to read through their list first before going to the concert so you could get the picture of what you should do, what you shouldn’t and what you should bring and what you shouldn’t. It helps alot in the security check stage because if you obey to the rules they have provided, the process of you entering the hall will be smooth-sailing. That is what we want!

I have been looking forward to Fabio’s concert for months ever since the tickets went out for sale on August. The moment the organizer announced they were bringing in Fabio to Malaysia, I knew I needed and must go! Fabio Asher is a singer from Indonesia and he has just ventured into this music industry for only 7 months but he is striving for sure. I went there with my two best-friends and we sung out lungs out to all Fabio’s songs. We are that “galau” but yes, we had the time of our lives!

The concert started around 8:30pm with two local opening acts before Fabio started his session. The venue of the concert was held at Megastar Arena located inside of Vivacity Home Shopping Mall. The arena was super spacious and able to accommodate more than 1000 people that time.

Fast forward to 11:30pm when the concert was about to end, we sung our lungs out for 3 hours to Fabio’s singing. We screamed, we shouted and we cried because it was too amazing. A night to remember for sure. From the sound system, lighting, visuals and performance everything was on point! Overall experience I would rate it a 10/10 for sure!
