Some people cringe at the idea of living in a studio apartment but after 3 years of living in one, I can safely say I absolutely love it. Maybe it’s because I grew up living in smaller spaces or maybe it’s because after the last 3 years, I know what works and what doesn’t. Interestingly enough, I actually lived in a one bedroom for about a year, and chose to move into the studio that I’m now in because I didn’t love having the divide of multiple rooms. I found that I barely used most of the space and would pretty much just hang out in my bedroom.
💗Find and make storage everywhere. There are no rooms in a studio, obviously, so stashing stuff you don’t want to see behind closed doors is out of the question. I have decorative storage boxes scattered around my apartment so I can stylishly stash clutter.
💗Less clutter=less chaos. I have made it a habit to spend 15-30 min before bed cleaning up my apartment. Throughout the day, I find that I’m always on the go and will leave things everywhere. Tidying up before bed sets the tone for the next day.
💗Designate areas for different tasks. Just because it’s technically one room doesn’t mean that you can’t section off zones. I find that area rugs and room dividers or bookcases are the best way to visually map out the space.
