Decor Tips: Picking a color palette!

Deciding on a color palette for your room or apartment can be daunting. You want things to flow but not be too matchy matchy and you might not know where to start! Here is my go to way of finding a color palette that you can work into your space and reference when you go shopping for furniture, art, and decor!

First, pick a piece of art or a rug that speaks to you. Art and rugs are always going to be the focal point of a room so find one of those that speaks to you. This will be your starting off point.

Next step is to pull out the colors of that art piece or rug. In my case, I had this painting by Ashley Longshore. I pulled out gold, red, bubblegum pink, and aqua blue.

Now you’re going to incorporate those colors and shades of those colors into the furniture, decor, and accents of your space. You can definitely use colors that aren’t in your piece but those will be the main ones you will want to use.
