NON-TRADITIONAL THINGS WE DID AT OUR WEDDING 💍

Me and my husband got married this past May and it was everything I imagined and hoped it would be. I definitely think a key part to everything going perfect was incorporating some non-traditional things into our wedding such as:

1: we did a first look..

Everyone has a different opinion on this. Some prefer their husband to see them for the first time when they walk through the ceremony. I preferred that my husband and I have a “first look” for us to see each other before any of our guests. This moment was so special and I love that we were able to share this moment alone.

2: we had a small wedding

It’s no secret, weddings are extremely expensive nowadays. We actually ended up trimming our wedding guest list almost in half to help with costs. When it came down to it, the questions we asked were:

“who are the ones that have supported our relationship?”

“who are the ones we are closest to?”

“who do we no longer speak to (applies to both family and friends)?

3: no kids allowed…

This was a tricky one to work around, but we had open bar at our wedding and we wanted all our guests and parents to have a night to enjoy the evening and celebrate with us! 100% would recommend doing this if you’re going back and forth with this idea!

4: mother/daughter dance

Although my dad is present in my life, I opted to have a mother/daughter dance instead. My mom has been my biggest supporter my entire life and I knew immediately I wanted to share this moment with her. We danced to “Never Grow Up” by Taylor Swift. It was such a special moment
