My 9 to 5 at TikTok-Bytedance 👩🏻‍💻

It’s been a crazy ride but the past 8 months has been such a journey! Wanted to give a little background on my 10-7 before I posted about my first ever business trip hehe ✈️ 💼

📓 Global User Growth

📓 Managing New Businesses/Global Products-Apps

🌍 Global team = various colleagues from China so most meetings are held in Chinese! B-O-Y did I struggle!! My chinese was terrible but I’m glad to say after > 241 days of having meetings in chinese my language skills have improved! 🇨🇳 I’ve gotten commended by local dept colleagues + even my chinese colleagues too 🤭🤭 my bf even says my work feels more like me attending language school > working LOL 🥌🐥🐥 kill 2 birds with 1 stone I guess.

🇸🇬 I used to have Singaporean colleagues in the same team as me but because of reorganisation now I’m the only Singaporean in my direct team 😂 there are fellow Singaporeans in the same dept as me so I’m never alone for lunches 🤓

🍱 Thankful for daily lunches provided!! Money saving PHEW and time saving too because CBD lunches are expensive + queueing for food (aka more time to be productive also actually LOL)

🍿🧃 Office snacks + drinks are pretty good - we have endless supply of Milo and that’s all I really need 😛😛😛

👯‍♀️ Happy to have found a bunch of colleagues I can vibe with and have lots of laughs with 💕 they make work so much more fun and enjoyable 🥳

😭😭 Of course it’s not always a bed of roses life can get very BUSY + HECTIC + CRAZY here 🤯🤯🤯 but I’m always grateful because being here is pretty much a miracle - I didn’t expect to get in because….

TLDR:

🔵 Interviewed in feb 23 & got ghosted 👻

🔵 Quit my job without a job because it was toxic and taking a toll on my mental health 🤡

🔵 Prayed that if it’s in God’s will he will make a way + UL believed and prayed along with me because vision of the year was Year of Victory!! ✌🏻

🔵 Got a call in May with an offer and BOOM 💥 Thank you Jesus 🙌🏻

Thus I’m always thankful for I know that this is the place I’m meant to be for this season of my life and where God has placed me for now! I’ll remain grateful, learn as much as I can and enjoy it before the next season comes along 🌅
