save this: how to EARN MONEY DURING UNI💸🤑

𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟐 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐢

𝟏. 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐞 (𝐟&𝐛 𝐚𝐩𝐩) 💛

- pay per hour goes up to $20/hr!! (i’ve worked from 13/hr to 17/hr)

- weekly payouts, easy to book n cancel shifts!

- super good if ure feeling a llttle broke and want “fast cash” during a certain period since theres no contracts

- i used to go to class in the morning-noon, then work 5pm-11pm shifts OR morning 10am-3pm shifts then go to school!

- 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: staffee shifts usually drop on fri or sat for the next week so chope your slots early.

how does staffie work? coming from f&b experience, every thurs/fri the weekly roster is sent to full/part timers to fill in for the next week. for days without enough staff, f&b outlets post those shifts staffie for hiring! thats why staffie usually refreshes with alot of new slots on mostly fri, sat, sun looking for shifts in the following week

- 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: f&b can be tiring wear good shoes u can stand all day in + filter your preferences in the app: provide staff meal/ can work with friends, helps to make ur working hours more enjoyable or worth

𝟐. 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐬! 💛

- many survey channels for SG wide/ university wide! just search around on tele with the keywords of Research / NUS / NTU/ Paid survey / Survey

- have seen compensations go up to $200 in vouchers, sometimes there’s online surveys for $15 bank transfer etc

- but! there’s requirements as they’re part of research studies and some require vetting eg fill up a form with info and they will only contact u if ure chosen

- some surveys are more meticulous, some are group focus discussions, some are lab studies

𝟑. 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 💛

- find something sustainable within your timetable

- consider part time internships eg 3 day work, 2 days school, consider WFH internships too!

- good to hustle for extra cash and also add into ur resume~

𝟒. 𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 💛

- many telegram channels posting tuition assignments nowadays

- pick ur tutoring jobs carefully - contract, location, required to create teaching materials or not, upcoming exams for the child etc

- 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: weigh the pay against the travel time and cost!!!!!! a little mistake i did was take up an art teaching for $30/hr but the travel time was about 2.5hr to n fro total considering the peak hour traffic .. so it wasnt worth the travelling time + mrt costs

𝟓. 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞! 💛

- ive always been interested in art so i started to teach art! started with preschool art, slowly with experience i could apply to art studios

- content creation is also another popular outlet now with UGCs

- ive seen my friends teach dance, do childcare babysitting, develop apps etc~

- 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: explore different ways to monetise your hobbies, but don’t let money dilute your interests! it shouldn’t reach a point where you’re chasing the money and dont enjoy the hobby anymore ~

oki thats it for my advice for now!! Uni has such a flexible schedule where you can plan your mods to 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞!!
