IS THIS RUDE? 👀

as women, it's hard to be assertive without people labeling you as "rude" or "emotional". however, i was told growing up that being "rude" is the #1 rule to follow in order to stay safe.

i do think there's more nuance though, so that we can be rude AND respected at the same time (which feels impossible these days)

1. learn to become comfortable with the discomfort - decide that you're willing to go through with it in order to protect your boundaries

2. prepare yourself by visualizing scenarios in which you'd need to be rude / turn down a date

3. practice phrases you might say to get out of bad situations

4. ^^ have a friend call you / come up with a secret emoji or phrase
