To stay on trend with every other athlete I know, I did follow suit by tearing my acl. Along with tearing my ACL, I also tore my meniscus - which meant crutches and non-weight bearing for a few extra weeks. So I got pretty good at dressing around my knee brace that went from my lower calf to my mid thigh.
Since this was during summer, I got lucky (I guess?) because I didn’t have to find too many pant options to fit over the brace; However, I did find one that I HIGHLY recommend. They are the Lista Elastic Pocket Pants from Princess Polly. You couldn’t even tell I had a brace underneath but they were still so cute (and I know this because my mom complimented me literally every time I wore them).
I often wore these specific Jean shorts, also from Princess Polly, because they were an amazing fit. The length was ideal and they fit comfortably over my brace without looking bulky. I feared I would only be able to wear super short shorts because of my brace but alas!
And of course, a looser skirt or dress is an easy and reliable go-to. Cute and never worried about them fitting over the brace.
Now for the crutches, because we choose to look at them as camp. At this point they become an accessory. I ordered black, fluffy handle covers - 1. They were comfy and 2. The black was cute and went with every outfit. I got a lot of compliments.
I also got a pocket attachment that clipped to one crutch. It had a water bottle pocket that fit a bottle of Corona perfectly but more importantly, fit my Nintendo Switch.
