HELP why is crotchet so hard?

I have always wanted to crotchet blankets since my first baby (11 years ago) but it was always so hard so this weekend i decided I am going to commit to learning. Is it hard? YES. Does my crotchet look horrible? YES. But, I am determined to learning how to crotchet a blanket. Recently my close friend found out she’s having a baby girl and I would love to gift her a pink baby blanket. If you have an advice or tips on crotchet please share with me🩷
