Hi, hi cupcakes! Just wanna share about my trip & itinerary to Koh Lipe last month. Koh Lipe is also known as the Maldives of Thailand. This tropical island has 3 main beaches (Pattaya Beach, Sunrise Beach and Sunset Beach) and is also one of the islands located within the Tarutao National Marine Park. The island is so small that by foot, itโll take you 40 minutes from end to end.
So hereโs the itinerary & some tips ๐ฉท
๐๏ธ DAY 1 ๐๏ธ
9.30AM: Grab to Kuah jetty
Koh Lipe is only accessible from Langkawi during the high season (late October to May). Be sure to be at the jetty one hour before your ferry time!
11AM: Ferry ride to Koh Lipe
Ferry ride from Langkawi to Koh Lipe took one hour & half. During the check-in, all the passports are held by the ferryman, and theyโll return it to you after you reach the Immigration office.
1PM: Check in @ Serendipity Beach Resort
We chose a hotel at Sunrise Beach, so we donโt have to walk the next morning for the sunrise. Make sure to book your hotel early, especially if youโre planning to visit during high season.
From the immigration office to the hotel, the hotel staff will wait for you with the tuk tuk. So you donโt really have to worry about the transport.
If you have more time to spend in the afternoon, ask the hotel staff to book a water taxi to Koh Kra (50 baht), where the water is deeper โ so you can see much more marine life & beautiful live corals.
3PM: Late lunch @ Bung Roon Halal Restaurant
We walked along the Sunrise Beach to the Walking Street, where Bung Roon is located. This restaurant is on the pricier side, but yes, the food is good & came in big portion.
4PM: Koh Lipe Walking Street
We walked along the street which got halal food, Thai street food, a lot of souvenir shops, 7-Eleven, and travel companies for your snorkelling trip. Donโt forget to take a compulsory photo at the Walking Street entrance.
5PM: Watch sunset @ Sunset Beach
We were kind of lazy so we took a tuk tuk to Sunset Beach. The tuktuk usually costs 50 baht per way here.
We waited for the sunset (and there was a beautiful rainbow when we went ๐ฅบ), and watched the magical moment of the sunset & its glow.
6.30PM: Koh Lipe Walking Street
After the sunset-watching, we went back to the Walking Street for a supper & some souvenirs. And the nightlife here was so vibrant. We went back to the hotel with a tuk tuk and called it a night.
๐๏ธ DAY 2 ๐๏ธ
6AM: Watch Sunrise @ Sunrise Beach
At first we wanted to watch the sunrise from our room, but then we decided to go down to the beach so after sunrise, we can snorkel a little bit before heading back home.
8.30AM: Theyโll send the breakfast right to your roomโs door ๐ฉท and yes, they do provide Muslim-friendly menu. The breakfast was ala carte, and you need to choose a menu from each category. The spread was so good that we finished everything ๐ซถ๐ผ๐
11AM: Koh Lipe jetty
The hotel staff will send you back to the jetty an hour before your ferry time. After clearing the immigration process, we spent some time at the cafe nearby for a cuppa.
12.30 PM: Ferry to Langkawi
๐ฒ And here is the cost per pax for our trip:
โด๏ธ Ferry LGK-Koh Lipe-LGK RM232.89
๐จ Serendipity Beach Resort RM264.93
๐๏ธ Tarutao National Park ticket THB200
๐บ Tuk tuk rides x 3 THB150
๐ฅ Bung Roon THB565
๐ซ Banana roti & iced tea THB80
TOTAL ๐ฐ RM627.20
Till next trip, bubbye! ๐ฉท๐๏ธ
