3 german cities you must visit as a first timer

pt 1: greece itinerary

this is the 2nd part of my trip to europe. this is my first time in germany so i wanted to hit as many popular spots as i can in very short 4 days.

1️⃣: Frankfurt

- römerberg square christmas market (love love love romerberg square paired with the christmas market!!!!)

- kleinmarkthalle market

- cathedral of st bartholomew

- paulsplatz historic square

💡 pro tip: visit the römerberg square in the day AND night.

2️⃣: Rothenburg

- walk the fortified city walls

- climb the town hall tower

- enjoy the medieval town vibesss

- visit christmas museum and shop

- experience the christmas market in marktplatz

- take the night watchman tour (MUST DO)

💡 pro tip: do not miss out on the night watchman tour, its 1hr long and starts at 8pm. the tour guide dresses up like a night watchman and brings you on a walking tour while educating you on the history of rothenburg.

3️⃣: Munich

- explore the old town and its churches

- visit the christmas market (really big and there’s tons of shops nearby)

- day trip to neuschwanstein castle

💡pro tip: definitely spend at least 2 days exploring munich itself, there’s many day trips you can take from here so you may want to consider staying for longer.

🤔 should i bother visiting if i only have a few days?

yes, if you haven’t been to any of germany’s christmas markets! just imagine… sipping on a cup of hot mulled wine while munching on a bratwurst, with christmas music and beautifully decorated huts around you. 😍
