Teach your toddler their colors!

This is such a fun and easy way to teach your toddler their colors!!

I have done this game with all three of my kids and each one loved it and learned their colors at a very young age.

I like to start with the primary colors. As they are learning, do only 2-3 colors at a time so they can really focus on them without too much at one time.

Use whatever you have in your home! I had construction paper so I used that today. But I’ve done other things too like colored paper plates, colored felt squares, etc. You could even use colored shirts or towels!

Place them around the floor and start to walk from one to the other and get your little one to follow you.

Be mindful of how many words you are using and try to keep it short and to the point. I like to basically just keep repeating the word I’m walking to saying, “let’s go to red, red, red. This is red, red” haha sounds silly but they will start to associate the word with that color.

Get them to follow you until they get the hang of it then try telling them to go to red and point to it. Then stop pointing and see if they remember.

They may not at first but keep at it and very soon they will know where to go!
