The NEW nail SCAM

I know I’m not the only one frustrated by people using greed and inflation as excuses. I got my nails done just 24 hours ago, and there's already lifting! Yesterday, I decided to treat myself to some self-care and went for a full set of short gel nails. The guy asked if I wanted a manicure first, and I said no because I was there for a full set. He then rushed through the prep—didn't cut my cuticles, didn’t buff them, didn’t even trim my nails. I thought, "Maybe it's fine."

But as he started applying the nails, I noticed there was acrylic missing along the edges, and there wasn’t any polish. I pointed it out, and he said, “Well, you didn’t want a manicure, so I didn’t do the cuticles.” I was shocked—since when do I have to pay extra for proper nail prep before a full set? I left feeling frustrated. My husband suggested I go back, and while they fixed one hand, the whole situation was just disappointing.

They even use Cash App to avoid charging taxes—like I won’t report them and get them shut down. I’m not someone who gives up easily, and I will definitely challenge the nonsense they tried to pull.
