[🚢] 4D3N Cruise to Phuket - Things to Note

It’s our first time on Genting Dream Cruise and we are sharing our experience with you!

We pretty much enjoyed our time on cruise but it doesn’t come cheap. As our friends are frequent cruisers and they jio-ed us, we just decided to go ahead without researching much on it.

[Room]

Balcony State Room is spacious and it can fit 3 pax (1 on the soft bed)! We wake up to sea view everyday and we managed to catch some sunset while we are here! But if you’ve motion sickness like me, you probably won’t use the balcony often. They work the same way like a hotel and offer housekeeping and room service too!

[Food and Drinks]

Food was pretty good! Dining at Dream Dining and Lido are free but you’ll need to pay for the other restaurants that serves hotpot/teppanyaki etc (complimentary for people staying in the palace)! You MUST try The Char Kway Teow (~$9 SGD) at blue lagoon!! It’s SUPERRR GOOD!

There were only 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water available per day. We went for the premium package where there’s unlimited alcohol that costs us $159 SGD. There are 3 packages - refresh, classic, premium, depending on your choice of drinks you prefer. If you’re alcoholic like us, I would recommend the classic package.

[Activities on Board]

There’s a bunch of activities on board which are inclusive in the package. However, some activities like massage, karaoke, bowling are charged at premium. Mahjong addicts like us paid $30 SGD for 2 hours to use the mahjong table, with free flow drinks and a cup of mixed fruits! Do catch the performances at Zodiac Theatre, it’s amazing!! The crews and performers are so talented!!

[Phuket - 3rd Day]

It will take around 20-30mins from the cruise to Phuket. First boat will leave at 8.00am SGT in the morning and you’ll need to get a ticket if you would like to travel free and easy in Phuket the night before! We took the 8.30am time-slot which was the earliest available when it reaches us and reached Phuket around 9am ish. As we were too early, most of the shops were still closed so we decided to walk all the way to Big C to get some snacks back home! We had Mango Sticky Rice at a random store and on our way back to boat as we only have until 1.30pm SGT (inclusive of the boat travelling time) to reach back to the cruise, we saw Prata with Condensed Milk and we know we have to get it! Yums!

It was fun and maybe for the next cruise trip, we may go for the Penang route! If you’re keen to know more, ask away~!
