SIDE HUSTLE - Pilates Instructor? 🙌

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀? 👸 ✨

With the rise of pilates, you may be thinking if you should be getting a cert. I’ve been working on a freelance basis on weekday nights, after my corporate job and here is my review on whether this could work for you too!

💵 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘃𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆

The minimum for an internationally recognised certification is around 2-3k for one apparatus - most popular being the reformer.

Pay wise, it’s about $40-70 for group classes (as a newbie instructor)🙌.

So I would say, it’ll take around 3 months to earn back the course fees. AND if you include learning time, which I think it’s a minimum 2 months + job search, then it’ll take around half a year to start earning!

👀 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁?

Going for the course itself was fun, but the hardest part would be taking the first step to teach an actual class - stage fright and having so many 👀 looking at you can be super stressful! However, after 2 months, I would say it’s quite manageable for most.

Btw: Finding a job is easy as most of the time I got almost instant replies from companies. There’s so many studios nowadays!

💪🏼𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻?

The best part of this side hustle is FREE CLASSES and studio space. Although not all companies offer this perk (some have higher pay but no free classes), you would still get some sort of studio time in between to practice.

So if given a choice, would I do it again?

I think I would have started with just one apparatus given that I have another job, but it’s something exciting if you do wanna do it long-term!
