With the rise of pilates, you may be thinking if you should be getting a cert. Iโve been working on a freelance basis on weekday nights, after my corporate job and here is my review on whether this could work for you too!

The minimum for an internationally recognised certification is around 2-3k for one apparatus - most popular being the reformer.
Pay wise, itโs about $40-70 for group classes (as a newbie instructor)๐.
So I would say, itโll take around 3 months to earn back the course fees. AND if you include learning time, which I think itโs a minimum 2 months + job search, then itโll take around half a year to start earning!

Going for the course itself was fun, but the hardest part would be taking the first step to teach an actual class - stage fright and having so many ๐ looking at you can be super stressful! However, after 2 months, I would say itโs quite manageable for most.
Btw: Finding a job is easy as most of the time I got almost instant replies from companies. Thereโs so many studios nowadays!

The best part of this side hustle is FREE CLASSES and studio space. Although not all companies offer this perk (some have higher pay but no free classes), you would still get some sort of studio time in between to practice.
So if given a choice, would I do it again?
I think I would have started with just one apparatus given that I have another job, but itโs something exciting if you do wanna do it long-term!
