Last month, I made a Lemon8 post recommending 4 healing fiction titles and I noticed a lot of people liked it!! ๐ย So, Iโm back with 4 more titles from similar genres. Some of these are sequels to books Iโve recommended before, so if you liked a particular author from that list, youโre in luck!
Hereโs the list with a short description of each book:
1. More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa โ A sequel to Days at the Morisaki Bookshop! Features a new cast of regulars and delves deeper into the magic of bookshops wrt community building. Def give this a read if you liked the first book and its protagonist!
2. I Want to D*e but I Still Want to Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Sehee โ Also a sequel to Baekโs first book with a similar title. This book focuses on the authorโs complex journey with mental health after the events of the first book and the new set of challenges she faces; I like that it examines how healing and recovery is rarely a linear process!!
3. Days of Distraction by Alexandra Chang โ This novel follows a young Chinese-American woman as she navigates her personal identity, career frustrations, and relationships when she moves to a new state with her partner. (TLDR Itโs giving quarter life crisis)
4. Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa โ This is a book about social stigmas and the power of unexpected friendships! (an elderly woman in her 70s, a middle-aged man and a girl) The characters are well developed and writtenโฆplus the prose is beautiful. ๐ญ๐ญ
I hope these books are loved by you too ๐
