Trying at home IPL for the first time 😳⚡️

I’ve been interested in IPL as a hair removal method for a while now, but salon treatments are always so pricey!! Just as I was about to break the bank on these treatments last month, I received a timely package courtesy of @BEAUBIT and was able to try out their at home IPL device 🙏🏻⚡️

I’ve seen this on Lemon8 a couple of times so I was quite excited to give it a go! NGL I was kinda scared too because I thought it would hurt…thankfully it wasn’t painful! 🥹 Here’s what you can expect:

🤍How to use the IPL device

- Shave the hair on whichever area you are planning to use this IPL device on first 🪒

- Adjust the device to the appropriate intensity levels — refer to their user guide to determine which level suits your skin best (slide 4)

- Clean the flash window with an alcohol wipe

- Always protect your eyes (I wore my own shades as the kit doesn’t come with one!)

- Do a patch test before doing the full zapping, so you know how your skin reacts to the IPL treatment!! ⚠️

- Moisturise with an alcohol-free lotion after and avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment areas 🫧

🤍My experience

- When the light flashes, it feels a bit warm in the area you are zapping ⚡️

- But I didn’t feel any pain and I was using intensity level 3-4

- This device is compact and portable! Just need to plug it in and go which I find v convenient

- If you are an IPL beginner like me, it is recommended to use this once a week first and reduce the frequency after you notice that your hair is growing at a slower rate!
