SIGNS YOUR BABY IS TEETHING

All babies are different but we can expect our babies to develop teeth within the first year!

Blake started teething at 3 months! It has been loads of drool the last four months but no teeth have popped through yet!

Some ways you can tell your baby is teething include

- their gum is sore and red where the tooth is coming through

- they have a mild temperature of less than 38C

- they have 1 or 2 flushed cheeks

- they have a rash on their face

- they're rubbing their ear

- they're drooling more than usual

- they're gnawing and chewing on things a lot

- they're more fussy than usual

- they're not sleeping very well (more frequent wakings during the night, shorter naps)

What can you do to help a teething baby?

- offer lots of teething toys! Ones you can pop in the fridge or freezer too!

- massage the gums!

- extra cuddling / nursing sessions.

- wipe away the drool, use and change out bibs!

- as a last resort! Over the counter pain medications, I use INFANTS tylenol when I can tell Blake is really hurting and uncomfortable and nothing is working! Ensure you talk to your pediatrician and give the correct dosing!
