Taiwan Itinerary for first-timers?! 🇹🇼🤩

Travelling to Taiwan for the first time and not sure where to go? I’ve got you covered! Here’s a detailed 11-Day, 10 Night Taiwan Itinerary that takes you through 4 different regions of Taiwan: Taipei, Yilan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung! ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ

This was the first Taiwan trip for my partner, so I planned an itinerary that is (I believe) ideal for first-timers while still being fun and engaging (even for someone like me who’s done these activities before but still had a blast!). I’m no travel expert, just here to share my personal recommendations 🩵 Will be doing a series of posts - Itinerary, Expenses breakdown, Detailed reviews of certain places etc.😗

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝟘𝟙 (𝕋𝕒𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕚): 𝓐𝓻𝓻𝓲𝓿𝓪𝓵

✈️ We flew to Taiwan with Starlux Airlines. And I’ve shared a review of the airline in my previous post — Starlux airline review ✈️

🏡 We stayed at Roaders Hotel in a Double Superior Room - Room was cozy, and the lobby had a pantry area stocked with cup noodles, snacks, plus fun amenities like a basketball machine, Photo Booth, and Movie Screening area!

📍We booked a Private Transfer through Klook. Our driver was incredibly friendly, driving us to our hotel and even taking us to our dinner spot at 肉多多火鍋-台北西門店. We booked for our return trip and recommended him to friends - each have their their own good experiences! 🥳

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝟘𝟚 (𝕋𝕒𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕚): 𝓒𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝔁 𝓢𝓮𝓵𝓯-𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓓𝓪𝔂

📍Started our day at Meerkat75 Café - We made reservations online via their website to avoid disappointment.

📍Next, we headed to Zhongshan District to do some shopping. Since we visited during winter, the clothes were season-specific, so we didn’t buy anything—oops!

🍣 Lunch was at Addiction Aquatic Development, where we enjoyed fresh seafood with a variety of options. We chose outdoor seating, and it was perfect in the cool weather!

📍After lunch, we treated ourselves to a Hot Stone and Oil Body Massage at Forest Spa, which we booked through Klook. The massage was fantastic, and we returned several times during the trip. Trying hot stones for the first time was interesting, though I might skip it next time for more massage time heh!

🥟 For dinner, we explored Ximending Night Market, where we tried the popular Ah Chung Mee Sua, Popcorn Chicken King, Sausage wrapped in rice and, of course, my first cup of bubble tea in Taiwan!!

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝟘𝟛 (𝕋𝕒𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕚): 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓯𝓮𝓷, 𝓙𝓲𝓾𝓯𝓮𝓷 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝓣𝓸𝓾𝓻

⭐️ We booked a day tour via Klook, which saved us travelling time - perfect for lazy travellers like us, or for families! That said, all these spots are also accessible by Taiwan’s public transport.

📍We began the day at Shifen Waterfall, crossing a long wooden bridge to reach the waterfall - a fantastic photo spot!

📍Next was Shifen Old Street for the Sky Lantern Experience. I was thrilled to find the chicken stuffed with rice I loved as a kid—though the taste wasn’t quite as I remembered, it was a nostalgic experience! 🍗

📍Our last stop was Jiufen Old Street. It was packed with people, so we took a break at A-mei tea house to enjoy tea and desserts. The vibes were unbeatable—great scenery, delicious tea, and a good 2hrs yapping session with my partner HAHA!

🥟 For dinner, we headed to Raohe Street Night Market where we enjoyed the famous Fuzhou Black pepper bun (The one at the entrance), Crispy pork belly, Fried squid,, and fried dumplings!

🥘 Still hungry, we stopped by 天天利 (Tiān Tiān Lì) in Ximending for their Braised pork rice and oyster omelette— Comfort food at its best!

❓🧐 Would I recommend this day tour? Yes if you don’t mind a bit of rushing. No, if you prefer to take your time at certain places especially Jiufen! 😜

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝟘𝟜 (𝕋𝕒𝕚𝕡𝕖𝕚): 𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓶𝓮 𝓟𝓪𝓻𝓴 𝓭𝓪𝔂!

⭐️ We purchased the theme park tickets and a direct transfer bus through Klook for convenience.

📍Leofoo Village Theme Park - Unfortunately, many rides were closed during our visit, and the park was almost deserted 😭. We finished most of the rides by 2 PM and explored a section with animal enclosures.

❓🧐 Would I recommend this theme park? Sadly, no… Check for rides closure before going!

🥟 For dinner, we explored Shilin Night Market, where we tried the famous XXL fried chicken, Aye hey thin noodles, fried squid, and more fried chickens!! We also had fun playing some night market games hehe

📍To cap off the day, we returned to Forest Spa for a Foot Massage!

𝔻𝕒𝕪 𝟘𝟝 (𝕐𝕚𝕝𝕒𝕟): 2 𝓓𝓪𝔂 1 𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓖𝓮𝓽𝓪𝔀𝓪𝔂 𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓹 𝓽𝓸 𝓨𝓲𝓵𝓪𝓷

⭐️ We bought the Shared City Transfers between Taipei and Yilan via Klook. While it was tricky to navigate the Taipei Bus Station for the Kamalan Bus, the journey was smooth overall.

🏡 We stayed at LOHERB 日光宜蘭 in a luxury double room - Hear me out, this was the BEST hotel that we’ve stayed throughout our whole trip and sadly we were only there for a night?? The room was cozy, spacious, and featured a sauna, projector, and an in-house restaurant with ✨delicious✨ food.

📍Our first stop was Zhang Mei Ama’s Farm, where we had a blast feeding animals and taking pictures with sheeps, CAPYBARAS, deers, and many more. Though the animals mostly came for food (same girl same), It was still a great experience!

📍Next, we visited 蔥寶寶體驗農場｜三星蔥丨宜蘭美食丨餵小動物丨蔥多餅丨CongBaoBao for a Spring Onion Picking experience and Scallion Pancake Cooking Class!

📍For dinner, we dined at LOHERB’s in-house restaurant, enjoying a fantastic 9-course meal for just SGD$40 — a total 𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓪𝓵!
