A calming & memorable day in Kyoto ⛩️🌳

As a part 2 to our time in Kyoto, here are some recommendations we have to make the most of your next visit there!

⛩️ Fushimi Inari Taisha — super easy to get to, just outside JR Inari Station on the JR Nara Line (150¥, 5 mins from Kyoto Station)! Admission is free and it’s always open! Silly story: We hiked up the torii gate-covered trail only to realise after completing the 2-3 hour round trip that most people head back down after the mid-point (Yotsutsuji intersection, 30-45mins in) because there isn’t much new to see after that. Our legs ached for the next 3 days….. please do more research before going or heed our advice and turn back once you start to feel it 😂

🌊 Kamo River — Highly recommend going there to take in the sights and people watch! We saw some policemen trying to catch(?) a salamander and it was really entertaining.

🍢 Pontocho Alley — Very “Jap” vibes and completes the experience to just shuffle your way through the restaurant-lined alley even if you don’t dine there!

🌳 Maruyama Park — Perfect sunset spot. We chanced upon it after a slight detour and wouldn’t have spent the golden hour any other way :,)
