Using Facebook Marketplace to furnish your home!

One of my favorite places to find inexpensive furniture is on Facebook Marketplace. It’s a great resource for all sorts of home decor pieces including lamps, tables, sofas, and more! You really never know what you’re going to find.

And in NYC, there’s such a unique variety of people at different income levels that you can definitely score some gems!

Here’s my advice for how be successful on FB Marketplace:

💸If you feel like the price is a little high, try to negotiate! Stay within a reasonable range of the original number the seller suggested, but don’t be afraid to barter (For example, “Will you take $10 off the price if I can pick up right now?”)

🚨For safety, check out the seller’s Facebook page and make sure everything checks out. I generally try not to go inside the seller’s apartment and ask if they can meet me outside or in the lobby of their building.

🏃‍♀️If you see something you really want, act fast! If you don’t grab it, someone else will!
