How to get mentorship from senior leaders

I’m a member of Young Women’s Leadership Connection, which is a leading platform in Singapore for women to connect and grow together. There are multiple events for young women to connect together such as Future women leaders forum, Annual townhall mixer, International Women’s Day event and so on.

✨ On an annual basis, YWLC opens applications for their mentorship program where you can sign up to be a mentee and you’ll fill in your wants in a mentor, as well as your preferred choices in their list of mentor pool. These mentors are senior leaders in their company, with many being C suite levels/Managing directors. Some examples are SG Minister of State, Minister for Sustainability and Environment, Country Manager of Visa, Partner at KPMG and so on! You can find the full list of mentors here

I went for their info session where 2 pairs of mentor-mentees shared their experiences in the previous cohort’s mentorship program and I’m really motivated to apply for the upcoming mentorship program.

- tap into the network of your mentor, especially useful if it’s someone in the industry you’re interested in

- inspiration for career and life guidance when you’re feeling lost and want to lean on a big sister who’s more experienced than you
