Why we don’t reward our toddler with sweets 🍦

I think it’s definitely a normal thing whenever your child’s does something good or has a good day you think “oh they deserve some ice cream” and I don’t think that is out right a bad thing! It is something that I’ve always wanted to try and be conscious of though because to me it’s always seemed like an unhealthy mindset to have if I want to make sure she grows up with a healthy relationship with food.

I don’t want her to think of “sweets” or “unhealthy” food as a reward and “healthy” food as a punishment. I want her to feel good and confident about what she eats and not restricted when it comes to her eating habits.

We eat “healthy” we eat “unhealthy” we have everything in moderation. If it’s a Tuesday and we want to get ice cream we do but we also make sure she has plenty of nutrient dense food that she now loves because this is how we’ve been with her since we did BLW!
