Hennessy’s C-Section Arrival: Our Birth Story 💗

On the midnight of October 3rd, I started feeling mild contraction pain. I knew I couldn’t endure the pregnancy discomfort any longer, so I told Derrick I wanted to induce labor earlier, claiming “reduced fetal movement.” My due date was October 8th, with induction planned for October 11th, but I needed relief soon.

The next morning, we grabbed breakfast at Starbucks ☕️ before heading to Hospital Putrajaya, knowing my caffeine fix would have to wait. After a CTG scan, I was admitted to a 1st-class double-bedded ward. My contractions were becoming more frequent, but I didn’t feel much pain, and dilation hadn’t progressed.

Fast forward to October 5th, the doctor checked again and suggested induction the next day. By 7AM on October 6th, Prostaglandin induction started. Contractions intensified between 9 and 10 AM, and I was prescribed Betadine for pain relief. We were able to nap until 5PM, but still, only 3cm dilated after all this time!

By 7PM, my water broke, and I was rushed to the labor room. The epidural was administered by 8:30PM, but at 9:50PM, the doctor told us there was no further dilation, and we had to make a decision. Derrick and I opted for a C-section, as we couldn’t wait to meet our little girl. 🥲💖

Hennessy was born at 10:37PM on October 6th, and Derrick met her for the first time at 11:01PM. This was truly an unforgettable journey to parenthood! ✨
