Paid RM39 to lay on CARPETS & DIY cute CASES! 🧸💖☁️

I think I have found a new joy in travelling across the borders into JB for our #WeekendCouple #DateIdeas activities! Singapore is fine…. But many things may require $$$ and I definitely would rather spend RM than SGD due to the conversion rate!

I’VE ALWAYS heard of and saw people visiting crafting studios where you can DIY things like phone cases and items like mirrors, claw clips and more! I finally had the time to visit one with my friends during our short staycay in jb!

☁️ DETAILS——

• you can just walk into the studio without reservation (some studios require reservation to enter!)

• Create then pay!

• Free to work at different areas around the studio!

• SHOES OFF within studio!

🎨 ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE ——

• Paint a bear or other figurines

• Paint pouring of figurines

• DIY keychains

• DIY phone cases

• DIY other small items

• Painting

• Cosplay (I saw a hanger with cute Korean school uniforms)

💖THE INTERIOR ——

• Pinkish and White interior! Super cute!

• Furnitures were spaced apart, spacious and comfortable!

• I LOVE that the tables had splashes of paint to show that this IS a place to create and mess is welcomed!!!

• CARPETED AREA with low tables and cushions or usual table and chair work desk area!

• The carpeted area really elevated the comfort level of the place as we already felt very comfortable looking at the lined floor and feeling how soft the carpet is under our feet!

🧈 DIY-ing a PHONE CASE —— basic package with no add ons

• Given a small tray to store what we picked from the ‘charm’ area!

• Staff will ask you for your phone model and provide you with a case!

• Decide on 10 charms (basic package)

• Pick 2 colours of decoden cream (that smells like butter hehe)

• Once you’re done picking, staff will provide a simple ideation card of the different styles you can create using the cream!

• Staff will ask you to decide on the type of nozzle for the cream! (My friend picked the type that the cream squeezes out with lines while mine is smooth without lines!)

• Find a comfy spot to decorate at and start squeezing!

• Press charms into the cream!

• Alert staff, staff will packed the case for you!

💡SOME TIPS THAT HELPED ——

• Pick any charms that speak to you first! Decide later!

• Organised storage for charms, easy to pick designs!

• Place charms on case and snap a pic of the placement of charms so you don’t have to decide on the spot after the cream has been squeezed on the case!

• Search for sample pics online and show the staff, staff will decide on the type of nozzle you need to recreate the design!

🧸THINGS TO IMPROVE ——

• Have more choices of colour for decoden cream!

• The quality of the phone case itself - made of a flimsy material that felt unsafe when used on my phone! Though I understand and can’t complain much because of the $$$ I paid + I went mostly for the experience and not the phone case itself!)

• Size of Takeaway box not suitable for big phones like iPhone 14 pro max as the cream will flatten at the top (no biggie but just FYI)

IN ALL, I really enjoyed my experience and wouldn’t return because of how affordable it is! We can literally pay to escape if we wanna escape jb’s street for a little while! #BestDeals
