What to do on a summer day in NYC

When I moved here 1 year ago I was told that summers in New York City were truly the best and I will say that this holds true so far…

Recently I had the best day in the city and it happened to be my one year anniversary since moving from Canada. I started out by taking the train to the Upper East Side. I grabbed an iced latte on the way and took a stroll alongside Central Park making my way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The hidden gems in this neighborhood are out of a movie and I love seeing the beautiful apartments and brownstones.

I met my friends at the Met where we saw the Van Gogh exhibition. I can’t believe I got to see Starry Night and other iconic pieces by Van Gogh in person. They also had the Karl Lagerfeld exhibition at the museum too but we didn’t have time to check it out (next time!) We then made our way to the rooftop of the Met and the views of the city were immaculate. Ticket prices at the Met were donation based and they recommend $20 per person.

We finished the day by picking up wine and snacks and having a picnic in Central Park. It was the perfect day to celebrate 1 year of being here!
