I Tried a Co-Working Space in the Neighbourhood 💻

As a freelancer, I don’t have an office to go to so I’ve been doing work at random restaurants and cafés when I want to get out of the house. Recently it’s gotten a little annoying with the wifi not working at some places, some of them not allowing laptops, and the good spaces filled up with no more seats left. I’ve considered renting an office but I’m always travelling so paying rent monthly isn’t exactly worth it for me (I’m writing this post right now in Cambodia).

A co-working space sounds perfect for me right now as I get to work as though I’m in an office but pay for it hourly.

💻✨ Here is my experience trying out Spatial @ Hougang:

I made my booking online on their website and after I made the booking, I get a confirmation email with a button to unlock the door from my phone, the address and the wifi password.

It’s located right next to the MRT in a building called The Midtown—It was really easy to find. Sometimes I get sick of going down and joining the crowds there. I love that this co-working space is in the heartlands instead of town. After unlocking the door, I went to find the table that I’ve booked using their online floor plan (Table C01!!!!). Then I went to explore the pantry section ✨ with lots of free snacks, candy and drinks. This was perfect because I’m a huge work snacker and I love coffee. I got my work done and was extremely productive with such a conducive environment. There were others there too; everyone was working hard and studying hard.

I had a great time being productive at Spatial Collective ✨ The booking process was easy and clear—I had no issues at all. It’s also really affordable at just $2.40/hour with different packages. They are also opened till 2am so if you’re a productive owl, this could be your go-to. I’m definitely checking out another outlet soon just for a new working experience.
