Disclaimer: This is what I learned this year by being in college. Some of it is experience, some of it is just looking at it first hand.

*If you are a procrastinator, GET OUT OF THAT HABIT!!!*

- Being a procrastinator is never really a good thing when it comes to assignments. You can end up putting extra pressure on yourself and stress yourself out. Not being on top of your assignments can lead you to also falling behind. If you do not pay attention to that, most professors will give you a warning before dropping you. Some professors will just drop you without warning (I pray you guys do not go through that.)

*ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK your submissions*

- Sometimes you can think you submitted something, but the entire time - it’s sitting on your computer.. not submitted. Make sure you double check - sometimes triple check that you turn in your assignments.

*COMMUNICATE with your professors about problems/confusion about your assignments*

- Talking or emailing your professor can be more helpful than harmful regarding an assignment. NEVER decide that you’re not going to do that project or half way do the assignment. You want to try as hard as you can to get the best grade that you can. If they see that you’re trying, they may add some extra points to the assignments just for putting forth the effort. Like Nike said, JUST DO IT!

*Keep a CALENDAR/PLANNER to keep track of your assignments*

- Having anything similar to a planner/calendar is good for you. Writing stuff down can help memorize what needs to be done. DO NOT DOWNLOAD A CALENDAR ON YOUR PHONE OR COMPUTER. I’ve seen it first hand that people will not memorize it when it is downloaded on their devices. If there are sudden changes such as class changes/ cancellations or dropped assignments etc. It helps with staying organized and not falling behind.

*ALWAYS do the EXTRA CREDIT that is given*

- Just a heads up, but extra credit CANNOT harm you. But it can help you tremendously. Every time it is assigned to the class, do it as soon as you see it. Like said before, it cannot harm you, but it can help you. NEVER take the term “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to” or “It won’t affect your grade at all if you don’t do it.” As a pass if you know you are not doing so hot in the class. Just do the extra credit!

*DO NOT USE A.I ON ALLLLL OF YOUR ASSIGNMENTS*

- okay, I can definitely admit that I am guilty of this. Using artificial intelligence (A.I.) for certain assignments and sometimes can be necessary. But using it all the time can have some consequences. Almost all of the professors on your campus have websites to see if it is AI generated and they will flag it. Most professor (like in the first point) will give you a chance to give you a redo. A LOT of professors will report it and it will warrant an academic integrity violation.

***** psst, I didn’t put this in the slides, but use AI for a smart way. Use it to make study guides and concept maps and etc. ****

I will post more college tips throughout the day. Xoxo!
