i got STRAIGHT A's while working 4 JOBS

its a no brainer 🧠 that studying for a bachelor's degree is NOT easy 🥹. there were MANY MANY nights where i slept for 3 hours and off to school and work i go. its definitely NOT EASY but it is POSSIBLE.

i had a part-time internship that took up 3 days of my week and i had 3 other side hustles.

you may be wondering why would i need to work so many jobs while studying, well i LOVE travelling ✈️ and i am planning to take my masters so apart from travelling, i'll save up for my masters 🎓

here are some tips!

1. planning 📝

give yourself a schedule of what you want to do and by when! for me, i used the app "doing doing" and applied the widget to my lockscreen 📲everynight before i sleep, i will app what i need to get done so that whenever i use my phone, i will see it and be reminded of it! the app also has 4 options, you can check it off if you are done, move to another day, cancel it or just note that it is in progress. BUT if you are reducing screentime 👩‍💻a regular planner will work too!

2. consistently 🌊

you may hear your parents telling you this BUT it works... i NEVER leave my assignments and revision till the last minute. it may seem nerdy bug i will start on my assignments upon receiving it📥! i like to get things over and done with and just chill after.

3. FRIENDS👯‍♀️

this sounds like a given but my friends are my biggest motivation to go to school. i am the type of student who benefits more self-studying than going to school🙃. i will tend to miss class and study by myself but of course there will be lecturers who literally make their slides the hardest shit to understand (literally 1 word on the slide) so we will go to class. my friends will always ALWAYS add me to their notion notes and share their notes with me when i miss lectures🤭.

4. study method 🙇🏻‍♀️

only YOU know YOURSELF!! you may be more PRODUCTIVE listening to lofi music and just mugging, while others need the peace and quiet of a library 📚. do whats best for you!! i am more productive in a quiet environment ALONE, at night, so i will make sure to rest more in the day so that i don't get extremely exhausted by night.

5. work-life balance ⚖️

as much as it seems impossible, it is NOT!! every 6 days of work, i will allocate a day to hang with my friends, playing mahjong 🀄️ or just catch up on my stuff at home🏠. DONT FORGET to assign small breaks! on top of the 1 day that i don't work,i will also ensure that i have a few hours in the days where i take mental health break, power nap or play games after work and before studying 📖

6. workplace 👩🏻‍💻

this may not apply to everyone but at my internship, i was able to do my own revision 🔖and assignments 📑 on a low work day. BUT of course, i did seek the approval of my managers and the work on hand does take precedence‼️

your time 🕰️ is LIMITED! always remember to look for jobs that pays you the BEST. my pay ranges from $10-$20/hr doing something i ENJOY. NEVER be afraid to voice out and negotiate for a pay increment. Make your time worthwhile!! all the best !!🥰
