Just like every other tourist, my boyfriend and I decided to end our Korea trip by visiting the Han River for a chill and relaxing last day ✨

To get the ultimate korean experience, of course we had to get some ramen and beer! 🍜🍺

However, despite fantasising about the whole Han River experience online and on lemon8 - which i agree was good, no one really talked about how the whole process to cook ramen was so chaotic and confusing 😵‍💫

Firstly, we went to “mini stop” which is convenience store located in the middle of the floating platform where majority of the koreans get their ramen cooked! Since it was so popular, there was a queue to enter and we all had to walk through the aisle of the whole store in a orderly manner. I was pretty overwhelmed by the crowd and everything was very fast paced. With the queue, you can only take and go with what you see as you walk. The line ultimately leads you all the way to the counter and it’s very hard for you to go back to take stuff if you miss it already.

💡Tip: Plan what you want in advance what ramen flavour, chips, snacks, beer etc. It’s a step by step queue so don’t worry as you will get to see everything in the store.

After purchasing the ramen, the stove to cook are just outside the store. HOWEVER, there are two sides and depending on what bowl you get, find the stove that is suitable for your ramen. Initially, we got the round bowl and stupidly went to the wrong stove that only cooks the tin. After we found out that the stove on the other side was the correct one, it was too late as we already added hot water but the noodle wasn’t cooked yet😫We even asked a korean for help but he pressed the “cook” button again and the water ended up overflowing…… but he was nice and offered to buy us new ramen.

💡Tip: If you got the round bowl, go to the stove that has a round edge. Else, the tin bowl can be cooked at any stove. I would recommend going to the right side stoves (after you exit) as that side has clear instructions for you to follow.

💡Tip: If you’re planning to buy side dishes like sausages/chicken, bring a cardboard tray (can be found near the stoves) so it’s easier for you to carry the food

Despite the whole kinda traumatic and awkward experience with the Korean, we managed to cook our ramen well at the end! It was indeed a vibe sitting down by the river and eating hot spicy ramen in the cold weather. There was even busking near the floating platform so we could eat and enjoy some music ❤️ Overall, i would still recommend you guys to come here despite it being very crowded everyday as the vibes was just simply immaculate. These are just some of #MyGoTo tips in case i’m coming here again. I hoped these have given you guys a better idea too! Neverthelss, it was definitely a good way to end off my Korea trip!☺️
