Camping Tips

I recently took my first camping trip in over 3 years with my boyfriend’s friend group! While we did have LOADS of fun there are some things I wish I knew before we went.

Try to Make an Itinerary-

We did find ourselves not being able to agree on what to do. While it doesn’t have to be a minute by minute itinerary, try to plan out your stay in advance. Find trials that the park offers, swimming and fishing locations.

Do Overpack-

I cannot stress this enough. You may never know what may happen so bring an extra change of clothes apart from your planned outfits. Do bring warm clothes as well, such as sweat pants and hoodies. While it did get very hot during the day at night it got very very cold. Do bring extra blankets!!! I made the mistake of only bringing 3 and I did have to share them.

Hide Your Food and Trash-

While we haven’t figured this out to a tee, I would recommend throwing out your trash at your nearest dump sit before you head to bed. We made that mistake and ended up getting raided by raccoons in the middle of the night lol.

It WILL Get Cold at Night-

As I said before, It does get cold at night. While I wouldn’t recommend an inflatable mattress, I would highly recommend a sleeping bag. As well and bringing extra blankets!

Explore As Much As You Can and Have Fun!-

I would recommend grabbing a map from the park office and exploring the park while also being careful. We did wade the water and found some awesome scenery!
