JB EATS: Golden Café in JB (MUST VISIT!!)

This has been on one of my bucket lists to visit since pre-COVID, as I frequently passed by this building and was always in awe of the striking architecture covered in a golden theme. However, as we intend to go for cafe hopping, we decided to try some of the items from each cafe hence we didn't get to try the mains here this time round. Keep reading to find out more!

Lemon Meringue: 12 RM

This is definitely my ultimate favorite 🤤🤤🤤Their Cromboloni is truly to die for. I love that their lemon filling is very generous, and when paired with the sweet meringue, it creates a perfect balance. They also offer other flavors like Pistachio and Blueberry, which I unfortunately didn't have the chance to try. I will definitely come back to try the other flavors!

Cheesecake Cruffin: 9 RM

I like that the cheesecake cream is not overly dense. It's just the right amount. However, I do have to say that it can be a little tough to cut at the bottom. Additionally, the cream filling is only on the top layer of the cruffin, not throughout the entire pastry.

Shakshuka Danish: 12 RM

This was more of a surprise to me. The first thought that crossed my mind when I saw it was, "Is that tomato?" I'm not really a fan of tomato sauce, so it didn't really scream "Pick me, please!" However, my friend decided to get it and give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted pretty good. It wasn't tomato sauce, but it had a slight spiciness to it that made it reminiscent of a curry puff

Iced matcha latte: 12 RM

This is one of the matcha latte that really fails. So skip this!

Iced caramel latte: 12 RM

This was also another fail. I’m not sure why but the caramel tasted very very artificial. Skip this too!

Overall, I really like the pastries because of it quality and variety! There are also some unique flavours like Nasi Lemak! Will definitely be back to try the pastries!
