fav food spots in chiangmai!

visited chiangmai for the first time and was mesmerized by the laidback vibes of the city. didn’t really set aside enough time to explore chiangmai as we took day trips out to chiang rai and elefin cafe on two separate days 😅

still managed to try a few food places that really suited my palette!

1) nai to congee

this breakfast spot is an easy 10/10 for me!! food was priced super affordably - one plate of kway tiao is like 55thb???? my mum and i really enjoyed the basil pork stir fried kway tiao - it’s on the spicier side but just so flavourful!!! the kway tiao looks super bland and mid but the flavours 🔥 congee was okay, my mum enjoyed the chicken feet too. the drinks were pretty mid tho - would skip and get coffee/thai tea elsewhere! would definitely go back for the basil pork though 🤤

2) cake baan piemsuk

took a bolt here just for the coconut desserts! wanted to get a coffee to go along with it but the coffee bar was closing around 5.30pm 🥲 had a hard time deciding between the coconut pie and cake but ultimately went with the pie because that’s the dish that most people share about! a few bites in… i asked my mum if she could help with the cake so we… got the cake 🤭 the cake was WAYYY better for me! the cream was light, cake was fluffy and slightly salty which combined perfectly with the cream. there were coconut flesh on top too.. it was heavenly. 😭 the pie was okay, but the crust was a bit stale and as a texture girl, the pie was a bit one-dimensional.

3) cheva & chavee

i inhaled 3 donuts in less than 3 minutes…!! it’s a takeaway only booth but there’s a small bench right outside the store. my mum and i sat there to try the donuts while it was warm (they airfry it before passing it to you!). the donut was soft, fluffy and incredibly light. i felt like i was eating clouds.. no greasy taste detected too. my mum’s a donut hater but really enjoyed this too! came with a hokkaido milk dip which paired well with the donut. i’m dreaming of this 😭😭

these food places are enough to lure me back to chiangmai 🤤 can’t wait to head back but meanwhile, manifesting good alternatives in singapore pls!!! ✨
