getting my brows threaded at Bonita~

i’ve been getting my brows done at the same place in Bedok as i signed a package with them. i had like 2-3 sessions left so i decided to go down and get it done. i was shocked when i arrive at the storefront because the whole place was GONE!!! they closed down without any warning or informing us that they are closing… it was a super bad experience 😞 wasted trip and time yet i couldn’t get anything done. because of this, i think i’m not going to sign packages anymore… ☹️

anyway, i did a quick search on lemon8 to find accessible and convenient brow threading spots! and Bonita was one of the highly rated places. common vocabularies seen to describe this place were “professional”, “clean” and “PAINLESS”!!! lol they had me at “painless” because the pain and redness after every session puts me off for the next. i always try to drag as long as i can until my brows become too unkempt 😜 i immediately made an appointment online through their website and it was pretty fuss-free. though the user interface seems a bit dated, it still gets the job done so ok loh!

i booked a session for a Friday evening - 6.20pm. i was a little early but had to stand outside the shop to wait as the shop was full house 😳 it’s a pretty small space but it’s really functional. only note is try to schedule a bit more time as it may not start on the dot. i waited for about 15 minutes before it was my turn. i finally get to sit on the “torture” chair 🥵. the whole time i was thinking “this is not painless!!!!!”. it definitely still hurts and i teared as usual. but i do have to say that when she does some areas it’s significantly less painful - in between the brows and above the brow bone. she was super quick and smooth too! my ugly brows regained its shape in less than 10 minutes 😆 i like that they provide a cooling gel after the session to calm the affected area. although my brow area was still super red after, i appreciate the thought!

payment was super easy too, they take paywave!! as i was paying, i was honestly a bit stressed that they would hardsell again… wasn’t really in the headspace to sit through another sales pitch after what happened to my previous package experience 🤢 but i’m glad it went pretty well! the cashier only asked if i’m aware of the packages they offer which i said no. she pointed to the price list and said if i want i can get it to share with my friends. she was super chill about it when i told her that i’m not keen 😊 she said it was okay and immediately proceeded with the payment!! i left with a bit of culture shock. there’s really beauty salons out there that don’t hard sell 😭😭😭

so yes… i can definitely see myself going back to bonita again as i really enjoyed their service! i loved that they kept true to the no hard selling thing too!!! but if you’re looking for painless, no lah. eyebrow threading cannot be painless one 🤡
