Ingredients (I usually just eyeball it but these are my approximate measurements):
🥤 1 banana
🥤 1 handful mixed berries, or about 1 cup
🥤 1 handful spinach or baby spinach
🥤 ½ cup mango
🥤 1-2 tbsp chia seeds
🥤 1 avocado
🥤 ½ - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
🥤 2 tsp honey
🥤 10 oz oat milk
Instructions:
1️⃣ Blend everything together! Just make sure you allow the chia seeds enough time to hydrate (about 5 minutes) before consuming
Commentary:
I love a good smoothie. It’s a great way to use up extra produce in the fridge, and all the fruits and vegetables listed in the ingredients can be added either frozen or fresh. There are other fruits and vegetables that would also be great for gut health and would promote digestion, but these are just the ones I reached for.
Honestly, I would have some variation of this smoothie every single morning, and I felt incredibly healthy because I had a very regular and reliable digestive routine. I don’t make it as often now as I did in the summer because I’m more in the mood for warmer drinks now, but if there are days where I feel like I didn’t eat healthily the night before or if my digestive system needs a little help, all I need to do is make this smoothie and I always feel much better afterwards!
