NYC Fall Weekend Getaway: Cold Spring

Where are my Gilmore Girls fans at?!

This may not be the town that Stars Hollow is based on (that’s in Connecticut), but this is the closest place I’ve found right outside of New York City that gives me all those warm small town vibes I feel when I watch Gilmore GIrls.

Cold Spring is a picturesque town about an hour and a half north of Manhattan that is filled with beautiful architecture, local small businesses, and amazing places to eat—all located along the Hudson River. And there are stunning mountains right on the other side of the river!

There are also some walking trails along the Hudson that you can enjoy. Grab a coffee or ice cream from Moo Moo’s Creamery and stroll, or sit by the gazebo and people-watch/journal/read/take pictures!

If you’re looking for a nice, quiet getaway where you can enjoy a weekend with a friend or significant other, Cold Spring is a great place to go.
