Chanced upon Katsu-an , a hidden gem tucked away in the basement of Suntec selling Katsudon for only $5.90!

The classic Katsudon (M size) is $5.90, the cheapest item on their extensive menu. Similar to sister chain Suki-ya, they offer XM, L, and XL-size bowls. If you’re feeling hungry, I’d recommend getting the XL bowl which gives you double the katsu slices for only $9.90😋

💬 Review:

After all, it's just a Japanese fast food chain. I didn't have high expectations. But this "fast food chain" seriously puts other Japanese food chains to shame. The portions were generous, and the pork was lean and tender. The sauce added an extra layer of flavour which binded the dish well altogether. If I were to nitpick, a little extra onions would have perfected the dish.

And not to mention that with prices being NETT (no service charge or GST), it's an outright steal. With such an unbeatable value, I’d definitely visit again as I’ve heard good reviews about their Tonkatsu.

Initially I wanted to gatekeep this place since the queues aren’t very long now even during peak meal hours. But this underrated Katsudon place truly deserves a mention!
