Things To Do With Your Bestie: Barre Class

I went for Barre Class for the first time in my life last Saturday. It was at Lab Studios, Duxton outlet.

My teacher was Magdalene Teo and the class was about 10 pax, all ladies. Do note that there are also men in the studios but not from the Barre and Yoga class I attended. I’ve always wanted to try Barre Class because I’ve supposedly done ballet for half of my life and thought it wouldn’t be too challenging. I was dead wrong. It was a lot of core work and a lot of pulsing and I didn’t have enough strength and balance to execute at least half of the exercises. They focused on work at the barre, the yoga matte and weights as well. The teacher was really nice and encouraging throughout. I literally was aching right after, all the way till I got home and started using heat pads for my knees. To be fair, I haven’t exercised in forever. HAHAHA

The facilities were pretty chill, a locker room to keep your belongings, no shoes in the studio, 2 showers with Olay Body wash, a toilet and full length mirror and hair dryer. There was another studio above as well.

Overall I found it to be a great experience with my bestie. Tho the pain that came after was 🙃 At least I can say I tried it before. The price was 2 classes for $40, so yes I have to go through this whole pain process one more time - or take another class hahaha maybe pilates or reformer.
