My brother’s dog, Echo.

Trigger warning: animal abuse discussed below.

This is Echo. My brother got him from a family that could not afford to care for him anymore. He was more than likely abused prior to my brother taking him.

We can tell he was more than likely abused due to his behaviors. He has scars and marks all over his paws. He used to be cautious if anyone raises their voice. He also used to sit with his backside to the walls. These things have lessened since being in my brothers care.

He now sits with his back to people he knows in a protective way. He is more open and sociable. At one point he didn’t know how to really play with other dogs. He learned to play because my dog peanut always wants to play with Echo.

A story about Echo, my brother moved to SC. Well one evening him and his GF were walking echo and Oakley (GF’s golden retriever). Echo slipped out of his collar. He ran off. They searched everywhere.

A couple of teens who worked at a gas station across the road from their apartment found him outside of said gas station. He had run across a major highway. Thank god he didn’t get hit by a car.

They took him to a vet to see if he had a chip. The vet had remembered the lost dog ad online. They were able to return him to my brother.
