I'm a big fan of being bougie on a budget, so in the spirit of #mindfulspending these are my favourite budget date spots in Singapore! other than romantic dates, these are also perfect for solo dates for when you need some time alone, or hanging out with your besties 💅🏼

✨ Gardens By The Bay ✨

This is my absolute top pick and my favourite tourist attraction in Singapore. I have a Friends of the Gardens pass, which gives unlimited access to the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and OCBC Skyway. The displays in Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are always changing, so there's always something new to see.

there's also plenty of free parts of Gardens by the Bay, such as the outdoor gardens and supertrees. The Aurora borealis show at the supertrees was gorgeous and it's FREE because you can just take a seat in the area and look up.

the best way to get there is taking the MRT to Bayfront station, and walking through the outdoor gardens to get to the domes. it's a 10-15 minute walk, and you get to see the beautiful dragonfly lake and outdoor gardens along the way (and save $3 on the buggy ride).

💰 Price: $68 for 1 year membership, but they always have a 50% off promo to renew your membership after that. $34 for one whole year of gorgeous flowers? super worth it imo and ive been a loyal member since 2017 🌹

✨ nature spots ✨

Singapore might have lots of tall concrete buildings but we also have lots of gorgeous nature spots. take a hike, touch some grass and have some great conversation

my fav spots:

📌 MacRitchie Reservoir - beautiful scenery, super easy to walk because most of the path is paved and even. lots of food options nearby too.

📌 Southern Ridges Trail - this is a long trail that spans from Kent Ridge to Harbourfront, and includes popular destinations such as Henderson Waves. The scenery and difficulty level of the path keeps changing through the trail, which I think keeps things interesting ⭐

📌 Bukit Timah Hill - ngl the initial climb up the hill is kinda tough. but there are a number of routes that have varying degrees of difficulty. you'll probably even spot some monkeys along the way (don't feed them!!)

📌 East Coast Park - the water is beautiful and the beach is perfect for picnics, chilling, BBQs, running, etc

✨ Museums ✨

there are so many free museums in Singapore for Singaporeans and PRs. so if you're looking to feel more cultured 🤓 these are my favs:

📌 Asian Civilisations Museum - I love the storytelling on the first floor (the shipwreck exhibition) and the variety of asian art and history here. there's also changing temporary exhibits, so there's always something new to see.

📌 National Museum of Singapore - the permanent gallery here is on Singapore history, all the way from 1299 to the present. it's a really engaging way to learn about our history and there's plenty of artefacts to admire.

📌 Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre - their Singapo人 exhibition was really popular when it first started, and it presents a fun and interactive way to learn and explore what it means to be Chinese Singaporean. you get a wristband at the start of the exhibition and make choices along the way, resulting in a personalized souvenir at the end of the exhibition. There's also plenty of photo ops in this exhibition 😉
