Hi Lemons!! 🍋🍋🍋
As a millennial and in the workforce long enough to notice the shift in communication styles. Gen Z, the new kids on the block, bring a fresh energy to the workplace, and with it, their own language 💬and approach to conversations. It's been a learning curve,📊 but honestly? I'm here for it.
1️⃣First off, Gen Z is all about keeping it real. ✊🏼
They value authenticity, so don’t be surprised if they call something out as "sus" (suspicious) 👀or say they’re not vibing with an idea. It's not them being disrespectful; it's just their way of cutting through the fluff.
They’re direct, sometimes blunt, but that’s because they want transparency in return. 🫂🫀 If something doesn’t sit right with them, they’ll let you know—sometimes even with a meme or a quote. Honestly, it’s kinda refreshing. 🍸
2️⃣Another thing I've noticed is that they love setting boundaries. You'll hear them talk about "quiet quitting" or saying things like "I’m not trying to burn out." 😯 At first, it threw me off, but in hindsight, they’re right—work-life balance is important, and they’re not about to let hustle culture take over their lives. I think we can all learn a thing or two from that. 🫡🫡
Navigating workplace conversations with Gen Z is definitely a bit different, but they’re the ones bringing the freshest ideas, energy, and a much-needed spark to the workplace. I genuinely enjoy collaborating with them because they bring creativity and positivity to every project. If you're a Gen Z professional looking for new opportunities, I'd love to connect—don't hesitate to reach out!
