I’ve been wanting to replace the blinds in our kitchen for awhile now. I don’t think they’ve been replaced in 20 years and a few weeks ago my husband broke one of the slats when he was trying to kill a fly 🤦🏻♀️. So I knew this was my chance to do it.
I looked at the price of Roman shades online and based on the dimensions of our window it would have cost over $150 to get what we needed. I did not want to spend that much money for a window covering so I decided to look for an alternative.
I can across a tutorial one day for a diy Roman shade that looked very doable, with minimal sewing, so I decided to give it a try!
I used a $20 tablecloth cut to size for the front of it and I just love how it warms up my kitchen with my all white upper cabinets.
All in all this project cost me less than $50 and I consider it a major win! My kitchen looks more custom and cozy.
