Should you SPLURGE on branded bags in your 20s?

Since graduating and starting work, I’ve always been so torn between buying branded bags and saving up - most of the time the buying wins! I don’t really splurge on branded bags, but see it just as a milestone.

1️⃣: (my one and only) Chanel - bought when I was 21 on exchange in Paris. I was sooooo broke then and really couldn’t afford this. But I was so influenced by everyone telling me since I’m in Paris I HAVE to buy it here. I had to empty my life savings just to buy this. I don’t regret it tho the blue is really unique. The Royal Blue wallet that I bought later on with it is GORGEOUS. I told myself I had to get it because this colour seems so rare! I comfort myself by telling myself that Chanel has “highest resale value” 🥹 ($5.5k)

2️⃣: Celine Triomphe Chain - bought while I was on work trip in Japan. If you’re looking for Celine, def buy it in Japan! The SA shared with me that Japan is the next cheapest outside of Europe (probably due to the exchange rate). I had just gotten promoted then so this was a reward to myself for all the blood, sweat and tears 😂 It’s strange how I bought the more expensive Chanel while I was a student, and bought this when I was a working adult. But for that, I actually cherish this bag a lot more! ($3.8k)

3️⃣: Ah, my first love - Kate Spade and Longchamp haha! Longchamp (was and still is) my go-to bag. I bought this while I was in final year of Uni and used it ALOT. I used it even when I started work. It’s my trusty bag and even lasted longer than some of my relationships haha! 🤣 (<$180)

Bonus: Of course - who can forget Kate Spade? Probably the first branded item for a lot of us zesties here. I love the girly (but not too overly girly) design and it’s on the more affordable side!
