Are you underpaid? HOW I GOT A 40% SALARY JUMP

1️⃣ALWAYS nego on a per annum basis, if you have 13th month just take your base salary * n, where n includes your 13th month and bonus. For example, say I earn 5k + 13th month and expected 2.5 month bonus, then tell them your salary is 5k*15.5months, and nego on top of this. I have friends who told me they nego on per month basis - this is very weird please don’t shortchange yourself!

2️⃣ Nego with a range, state you’re expecting 20-25% above salary in 1. If not, base jump expectation is 15-20%. Anything lower than this I personally feel might not be worth the jump UNLESS you really have a passion in it etc, or if you feel like you’re stagnating in your current company. You should at least be earning or learning. So take the annum salary calculated in 1., and ask for 1.15-1.2x of that.

3️⃣But hor, also need to be realistic about your asking salary and know your worth. Are you actually underpaid at your current job? You should check what’s the salary range available for that job post. I highly encourage checking out CareersFuture when negotiating. I’ve looked at the range before and can say it’s quite true to the salary range for my current job (I don’t work in TikTok ya just an example).
