where should you ride camels in Morocco?

have a smart heart when you’re traveling. keep in mind these animals are all still living creatures and don’t like being tortured.

when you travel and you want to experience animal attractions, be aware of how they treat their animals.

in Morocco, we did go to multiple camel trekking excursions and from what we’ve seen, it’s been a sad experience. we watched people hit them, yank them and even lock them up in a small area.

the only location where we’ve seen the camels be treated with kindness was in Merzouga, we witnessed them being fed and given water when they finish their ride.

you see that they are more cooperative and nicer to the humans and you feel way safer riding those that are treated nicely than the grumpy ones who are treated poorly.

and even then, during our excursion, we stop at an oasis for lunch and they got to roam around, munch on some leaves and relax without a saddle and leash.

definitely makes you feel 10x better and less guilty for riding a camel, especially when you become friends with them and feed them their favorite treats, dates! (they LOVE em)
