if you’ve ever wanted to visit the sites of Ancient Greece and explore the rich history, Athens is the place to be! so save this ULTIMATE ATHENS ITINERARY for your bucketlist !!

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐍𝐄

🛫 UPON LANDING, find a nice TAVERNA for lunch/dinner

• we visited Paulis Taverna at Pitheou 20, Athina 117 43, Greece which had fantastic, authentic Greek food

🚶‍♀️ TAKE IN THE SITES and settle in

• the little neighbourhoods in Athens are nice and quaint and you may find small bakeries to buy some sweet desserts so take some time to explore!

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐖𝐎

(in the day)

🎟️ BUY TICKETS/ATHENS PASS at ACROPOLIS

• head there in the morning to buy tickets

• they have a bunch of packages that allow you visit many sights (Including the Ancient Agora, Aristotle’s school and more) over a few days

🏛️ SPEND the morning at ACROPOLIS

• acropolis and its slopes are vast and beautiful so take time walking around and soaking in the history and the amazing view from the top of Athens

🍝 EAT AND SHOP along Monistiraki

• take a break for lunch along the famous streets of Monistiraki

• try going into the smaller streets for less populated restaurants

• and albeit touristy, there are some cute little shops to buy really cool souvenirs (i found one that sells old postcards and maps!)

(at night)

🥂 WIND DOWN at the PLAKA neighbourhood

• this area is vibrant and energising, with restaurants lining its iconic, well lit steps

• you have a wide variety of options here, and all of them serve amazing authentic Greek cuisine

• many also double as watering holes so enjoy a drink to end off your second day in the city

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄

🚖 TAKE A TAXI TOUR to see more sites

• after all the walking on day 2, this is definitely a nice option

• our driver, Mr Nikolas Vogiatzakis (DM me for his contact! he’s a really solid guide!) showed us around places like the OG Olympic Stadium and Lycabettus Hill for great pictures of the Athens skyline

• he even offers drives out to Piraeus, a coastal city that’s just a short drive from Athens if you have more time!

🏛️ SEE THE REST of the sites on your ticket package

• Mr Nikolas can even help bring you to the rest of the sites you didn’t get to see from your ticket package

• If not, you can get around pretty easily via public transport

• do note that not all the locations are in one place!
