chunky sweatshirt hack 🤍

One of my favorite fashion hacks is this one that I’ve been doing since high school! I’m excited to share it with you guys today because it makes every piece in your closet far more wearable! Here is how to take a chunky oversize sweatshirt and give it a photo cropped walk, that’s far more flattering!

STEP ONE: get a sports bra that has a large band on the bottom. The larger the band, the better the tucking will work, and the longer the sweatshirt will stay in place! Active tanks like align things from Lululemon do not work well for this because there is no band at the bottom and the sweatshirt will just fall out. Put on the sports bra underneath the sweatshirt you want to "crop."

STEP TWO: roughly estimate where you’d want the cropped sweatshirt to end. This determines exactly how much of the sweatshirt needs to go into the bottom of the sports bra to achieve the look!

STEP THREE: tuck the bottom of your sweatshirt into the bottom band of the sports bra at the same fold that you established in Step Two. You can see that I had to talk quite a bit of a sweatshirt into my sports bra, band, even going up over my rib cage because I wanted the crop to be more dramatic.

STEP FOUR: adjust the photo crop all the way around the base of the sports bra to ensure that the sweatshirt looks the same length and you don’t have any weird spots poking out. This takes some trial and error, especially if you are putting a ton of material into the sports bra for the "crop" look.

And there you have it! This is far more flattering, and waist defining!
