One of the best hacks for knowing how to look your best and pick out the best clothing pieces for you is by finding your color season! The first step in this process is locating your skin's undertone, so that you can know what colors look good on you versus those that are not as flattering. I’ll run through some quick and easy steps to determine your skin's undertone, to give you a good starting place, so that you can look and feel your best whenever you put together outfits!

STEP ONE: look at your veins in natural light. Do they appear green or olive, or blue or purple? Write down either A or B depending on your answer.

STEP TWO: hold up something that is stark white next to your face without make up in natural light. A sheet of paper works really well for this! Take a photo and then ask yourself if your skin appears more yellow or orange next to the white, or pink next to the white. My sister is Latina and did not think this would work on her skin tone, but it was crazy how you could still see the undertone come through! Write down either A or B depending on your findings.

STEP THREE: put on both gold and silver jewelry, and see which makes your skin look more vibrant, clear, and balanced. Does it look better in gold jewelry or silver jewelry? Write down A or B depending on what you think looks best.

If you wrote down all A’s: you have a warm undertone! This means that you will either be a spring or autumn color season, and will favor warm colors and gold jewelry.

If you wrote down all B's: you have a cool undertone! This means that you will be either a summer or winter color season, and will favor cooler colors and silver jewelry.

If you answered both A and B for different questions, you have a neutral undertone! Typically this is the case where you would want to go see a true color season specialist to get typed, or if you want, you can ask your friends to answer this for you after sending them photos because sometimes it’s harder to perceive ourselves.
