Pay-per-box food rescue! What I got for $12 😯🛍

Was at Chinatown area today and decided to visit Mono as I saw a lot of reels on insta ab it!

The place is p hidden but easy to locate if u have the address, it’s on 2nd floor of Yue Hwa Chinese Products (Chinatown) in between Peoples Park Centre and Complex.

My thoughts 💭

- I rly like the idea of food rescue!! many items are a few days to 1/2 months past the expiry date but still very much edible

- There are many friendly volunteers to tell u more ab the products! also for example in the last slide, there’s an advisory on products like chocolates

- The day i went there wasn’t much selection as i thought, but u can still easily fill ur box cuz the items are rly high quality stuff, i think cuz organic products are expensive and hard to sell? so a lot of them dont get sold and hence they end up here… good for us ig 😌

My purchase 🛒

- I managed to fit 17 items in my $12-15 box (without squeezing stuff HAHA) we paid a $15 donation and this is alr super worth!

- Included kitkats, oat choco bars, energy bars, cheese puffs…

- My fav purchases was kombucha, protein bombs, vitamin d supplements and the milkyway chocolates 🍫

- I also got a yogurt but was p sad that there was no more hummus (saw from reels), but it’s expected that every so often they have diff products cuz it depends on their expiry date and whether it’s still consumable, so u can go a month ltr and will defo have completely new items!

Wld defo head over again!! It’s a very pleasant and worth the money experience ❤️

(also aft shopping here can go eat the nearby food i love the street food dumplings)
